Khiladi 786' Movie Review
Khiladi 786' Movie Review
A superman kinda macho hero + unrealistic gravity defying stunts +
mindless comedy + loud and bizzare characters + often cringeworthy
sometimes power-packed dialogue + a hot babe+
some peppy numbers + Story (not a mandate) = A 100 Crore film.
Ever since Bollywood cracked this formula, every second movie is
religiously following it, there by churning out films that are
prototype of each other. Then be it 'Dabanng', 'Singham','Rowdy Rathore' or this week's big release 'Khiladi 786'.
'Khiladi 786' is the story of 72 Singh, who dons Police uniform, loots the trucks of smugglers, shares the loot with Police and thinks himself to be the messiah of Humanity. In short yet another Robinhood Pandey.
Only woe in his life - he wants to get married but no body wants to
marry him, thanks to the notorious reputation of his colorful family
that comprise of his father Sattar (70) Singh (Raj Babbar), Uncle Ikhattar (71) Singh (Mukesh Rishi) and his grand mother, mother, auntie and cousin Chauhattar (74) Singh. Funny identity of the ladies can be summed up in a dialogue of Akshay, "Hamare Ghar ki sabhi bahu firangi hain, aur humen Hindustani kudi ki tangi hai."
Enter Indu Tendulkar (Asin), a perfect match for Bahattar Singh. She is rough, tough and is the sister of Mumbai's don TTT (Mithun Chakraborty). He is desparate to marry off Indu in a decent and sharif khandann but the girl is in love with a goon, Azad who is perpetually behind the bars.
But how will our geographically separated hero-heroine meet? This task is taken up by Manshukh Desai (Himesh Reshammaiya), a failed wedding planner who wants to prove his worth to his father. How he does that and what all challenges he has to face in uniting the "bomb" with the "atom bomb" you'll find out as you watch the film.
'Khiladi 786' is directed by Ashish R Mohan,
who has assisted director Rohit Shetty in the past. But unfortunately,
he is quite influenced by his guru and that can be seen clearly in his
direction. In fact, 'Khiladi 786' , that's marred by a bad script and a bad story
