The Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz starrer Barfi! that released last week has been named India’s official entry to next year’s Oscars. It’s a big victory for this Anurag Basu film as it beat 19 other films – including Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Paan Singh Tomar, Soojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor and Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani – to get selected for the Academy Awards 2013.

Barfi! revolves around a happy-go-lucky deaf and mute character played by Ranbir, who falls in love with an autistic girl played by Priyanka Chopra. Ileana makes her Bollywood debut with this movie.

The film has music by Pritam Chakraborty. The heartwarming romantic comedy won over the critics and the audience, and has already earned over Rs 60 crore at the box office. Let’s wait and watch if the film that has been loved in India manages to impress the Oscar jury to get into the final five.

Heroine  is an upcoming Indian film directed, co-written and co-produced by Madhur Bhandarkar. Revolving around the life of a once successful film actress, Mahi Arora, whose career is on the decline, the film features Kareena Kapoor as the protagonist along with actors Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda and Rakesh Bapat. A the project also stars Shahana Goswami, Divya Dutta, Helen, Shillpi Sharma, Mugdha Godse and Lillete Dubey in supporting roles.


Kareena Kapoor as Mahi Arora Originally the first choice for her role, Kapoor was hesitant to take on the project when Bhandarkar approached her with the film's brief initial idea.She explained reservations about the criticism her character might evoke as well as the intimate sequences with several of her co-stars, and was subsequently replaced by Aishwarya Rai.Several days after production began, Rai left the film due to her pregnancy, and Bhandarkar reapproached Kapoor with the film.Once the director reinforced his faith in her, she agreed to do the film when she was handed the completed script.Prior to being cast in Heroine.

He feels that though he is 30 plus, but by imitating the attitude of the young ones on the sets he could imbibe their traits.

English vinglish 



English Vinglish is an upcoming Indian drama film directed by debutant director Gauri Shinde and produced by R. Balki. The film marks the comeback of Sridevi after a 14 year sabbatical.The film also features French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain, and Priya Anand. Amitabh Bachchan makes a guest appearance in the Hindi version of the film, while Ajith Kumar comes in for the same role in the Tamil version.
